What are the rental terms?
Every Hayes Bros rental includes 7 days and a set weight by size, with extra weight billed at $75 per ton by the pound and the scale ticket attached to the final invoice. The full terms are below in plain English.
- Rental period and extra days
- Each rental includes 7 days from delivery. Extra days are $25 per day. Call before day 7 to extend or to schedule pickup.
- Included weight
- 10-yard: 2 tons. 15-yard: 2.5 tons. 20-yard: 3 tons. 30-yard: 4 tons.
- Overage and rounding
- Weight over the included tons is billed at $75 per ton, pro-rated by the exact pound from the landfill's official digital scale ticket. No rounding up. Example: 6,800 lb net in a 20-yard (6,000 included) = 800 lb = 0.4 ton × $75 = $30.
- Proof of weight
- A digital copy of the certified landfill scale ticket is attached to the final invoice.
- Final billing timeline
- The final invoice, with any overage or extra days, is emailed 3 to 5 business days after pickup, once the landfill processes the disposal log.
- Prohibited items
- Hazardous chemicals, wet paint and batteries are not allowed in any dumpster.
- Extra-fee items
- Appliances containing Freon (fridges, freezers, AC units), mattresses and tires are $50 each, due to special processing at the disposal site.
- Heavy debris
- Concrete, dirt, brick, rock and sand are allowed only in 10 and 15-yard dumpsters, loaded no higher than halfway up the walls. Loads of one unmixed material qualify for clean-fill pricing.
- Overfill
- Debris must be level with the top rim. Overfilled dumpsters can't be hauled under Texas secured-load law. If a dumpster is overfilled at pickup, the $125 dry-run fee applies and the customer removes the excess before transport.
- Placement and access
- The customer chooses the spot and keeps it clear. If the driver can't drop or pick up because of parked cars, low wires, locked gates or other blockages, a $125 dry-run fee applies.
- Property protection
- Drivers place wooden boards under the dumpster's rollers and rails on concrete and asphalt.
- Delivery scheduling
- Deliveries run 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Orders placed by 3:00 PM are delivered the next day. Same-day requests carry a $50 rush fee and depend on truck availability. Drivers call or text 20 to 30 minutes before arrival. You don't need to be present if the drop zone is clear.
- Swaps
- A swap (full dumpster out, empty in) is priced as a new rental.
- Permits
- Street or right-of-way placement may need city permission. Ask when you book for your city's rule.
